ATLANTA, Ga. - The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has provided a grant of more than $6.5 million to help reimburse the commonwealth for the cost of calling up the Kentucky National Guard during the January ice storm.

ATLANTA, Ga. - In these early August days in the Bluegrass State, last winter's paralyzing ice storm is for many but a distant memory. For first responders and survivors who took a stand against Mother Nature in late January and early February, the recollections are all too vivid.
