CALCASIEU PARISH, La. -- The voluntary actions of several homeowners in Calcasieu Parish have laid the foundation for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA) to provide $1.1 million to the parish for acquisition of five residential properties.

Harris County Flood Control District Awarded $1.9 Million Hazard Mitigation Grant

TEXAS CITY, Texas -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded a $1.9 million hazard mitigation grant to Harris County Flood Control District No. 9 to acquire residential properties that suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Ike. The grant was obligated to the district for the acquisition of nine properties in the Idylwood Historic Subdivision.
