TEXAS CITY, Texas -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded more than $20 million in hazard mitigation grants to the city of Galveston to acquire 64 homes that suffered extensive damage as a result of Hurricane Ike.

FEMA Obligates Funds To Replace Boat Docks On Sabine Lake

TEXAS CITY, Texas -- When Hurricane Ike hit Texas' upper Gulf Coast last September, it tossed dozens of boats from the water onto dry land and destroyed several public boat docks at the Pleasure Island Marina on Sabine Lake. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has now obligated Public Assistance grants totaling more than $2.7 million to replace four of the marina's eight docks.
