New Army JAG´s and Jagman

General Officer Announcements

Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

  • Army Brig. Gen. Dana K. Chipman has been nominated for promotion to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as the judge advocate general, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Chipman is currently serving as commander/commandant, U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, Charlottesville, Va.
  • Army Col. Thomas E. Ayres has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as assistant judge advocate general for military law and operations, Arlington, Va. Ayres is currently serving as judge advocate, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, N.C.
  • Army Col. Mark S. Martins has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander, legal services and chief judge, Arlington, Va. Martins is currently serving as chief, International and Operational Law Division, Office of The Judge Advocate General, U.S. Army, Arlington, Va.
  • Army Col. John W. Miller II, has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander/commandant, U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, Charlottesville, Va. Miller is currently serving as staff judge advocate, III Corps and Fort Hood, U.S. Army, Fort Hood, Texas.
