FEMA Administrator Meets With Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Craig Fugate recently met with Ms. Helena Lindberg, Director General of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), to discuss the importance of international partnerships and preparedness. Sweden began its six-month term as president of the European Union (EU) on July 1, 2009.

President Declares Major Disaster For Tennessee

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced that federal disaster aid has been made available for Tennessee to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and flooding during the period of June 12-14, 2009.
