PENSACOLA, Fla. (June 5, 2009) Former Aviation Metalsmith 1st Class Lewis Hopkins, a Battle of Midway survivor, is embraced by Capt. Connie Frizzell, commanding officer of the Center for Information Dominance, Corry Station, after she presented him with the Purple Heart medal at a Battle of Midway celebration at Corry Station. Hopkins, who was injured during the war, was notified that he was qualified to wear the Purple Heart six decades ago, but was never officially presented with the medal.
